Here’s to the biggest reason we play games! (well me at least)

Playing games has been a huge part of my life, so much so that I started this blog! I’ve been a bit busy this week, so instead of writing a review of a game, I thought it’d be a nice time to reflect on the reasons I write about and play games, the people. Yay personal things! So when I was a kid, I played a lot of games. Video games, brain puzzles, made up games we’d play outside. But the most memorable game I played when I was younger was chess. It was an easy way to connect to adults, and some of my best memories are playing chess with my mother and sister during weekends, and my uncle when I went to the Philippines. Nowadays, I still play games, and I noticed they really brings people together, whether you’ve all tried to resurrect the ancient idea of the LAN party, or you grab a 6-pack or a bottle of wine and laugh over the hilarity of Cards Against Humanity. The people we play with are as important as the games we play. I’ve had fun times at Magic the Gathering and other tournaments, meeting new people at my local game store, and getting to know the judges and employees, even getting to meet some of the people who make games, and put all of their hard work into these boxes of joy. So here’s to the next table flip caused by a game of Settlers of Catan, the Resistance, or anything you and a couple awesome people enjoy!
